First attempt at orchestral composing
Sam and I are composing an orchestral piece. The result so far sounds a bit like a mash of superhero movie and military observance.
A few thoughts:
- Phrases of 7 bars are tricky
- Samples sound clunky for whole sections, and even clunkier for solos
- French Horns are way quieter than I expected
- You can soften or harden a soloist's instrument by doubling with other instruments doubling with other instruments
- That sort of means it's not a solo anymore though
